Weather
Lost Dutchman State Park is located in the Sonoran Desrt of the southwestern United States at an elevation of 2,000 feet. The climate is arid with an average annual rainfall of about 14 inches. During the winter, daytime temperatures usually reach 60° F. The weather is predominantly sunny with seasonal winter rains coming from the Pacific Ocean. Summer months are extremely hot with daytime temperatures soaring above 100°. Hot weather in July and August can produce thunder, lightning, blowing dust, and occasional heavy rain. This “monsoon” season normally ends by the latter half of September. The park's busy season is October to April, when temperatures are moderate.
